Our teams

Joseph and Mary are the founders and director of the school who are supported by 12 teachers.

I'm the founder and the Headteacher of Chema vision children centre. The title I got even before my training, my teaching started way back to 1990 immediately after my secondary school education, I was assisting my younger siblings at home and there were remarkable changes in their class performance, these earn me alot of marks to become untrained teacher in my first school where I stayed for 16 years. In the second school I stayed there for a period of 2 years where mistreatment of the learners was high and common, this is when we (Mary and I)came up with an idea of starting a good (Chema) school where learners will receive sound education and other services, I am seeing the growth of Chema up to the higher level of education of the Land in the near future and it's multiple branches

Mary Kitonyi

My passion for starting Chema Vision School began a long time in 2010 while I was teaching and saw a lot of non-going school children in Kibera slums. I was driven by the desire to see such children achieve their full potential through education. As a mother and mentor, I am motivated by the desire to make a positive difference in the children’s lives so they may become better people in the society. In future I would like to reach as many children as possible and have a home to provide shelter to the less fortunate and guarantee their safety and well-being.

Founder and Director

I am 12 years and in grade 6. What I like about my school is the teachers because they are always willing to help me learn how to read and write. I enjoy eating good food and have made good friends while at my school. My favourite subject is Mathematics and I would like to be a Doctor when I grow up so I can help people who are sick.
